WHER WERE YOU WHEN IT ALL WENT DOWN?

I will never forget this day for the rest of my lie. I was sitting in the Library in my Study Hall with Mr. Straight. I was attending Barrett Middle School at the time and I was in the 8th grade. I remember a teacher coming in and turning on all the T.V.’s in the school all at once. We all turned to the strange and abrupt interruption over the loud speaker stating that this was something the whole school and the entire Nation was tuned into. I remember the deadly silence in the room as the first tower was in flames. We all just sat there all the way over in Louisville Ky feeling so helpless and hopeless at the same time. We all tried to understand what this mint for the future. It wasn’t untill the second plane hit the second tower right in front of our very eyes did any one start to cry. Every one hit there phones and called all the loved ones that they had just to get some since of connection and safety. The phone lines in New York were so jammed that NO one could get through and that only made things worse. We all sat with a very intense feeling of panic and mass fear as we continued to watch the people running through the streets as the buildings began to fall. It was a day of never ending fear that would affect the entire world from that day forward. We could only watch so much until we were all in tears. Our Principal called for an immediate mandatory school meeting in the auditorium. I went to a private school, so we Prayed and sang the National Anthem before any one would confront us with there thoughts. We were told that every parent from the school was called and we would all be leaving school early that day. I was in walking distance from school so me and my Twin met by our bikes and just hugged. We hugged so hard and cried together before we could even start our tri home. When we showed up, the entire family was there in shock. I remember saving several new papers the next day and doing nothing but watch the news. We went to church all week long and prayed for all the families that had lost a loved one. I didn’t go to school at all for another week. My family had decided that it was time for us to all just stay at home together and enjoy each others company. I will never for get this day for the rest of my life… I remember every single detail of the event that erupted a complete change in the entire world. My heart goes out every one who was affected by this day. I am looking forward to a day where we don’t have to worry about things like this and we can all move on. Until then I will for ever remember the feeling that over came the Nation that day. Where were you when it all went down?

first of all thanks for blogging about the subject.
i was actually at home sleeping in that morning.
i had made it home the day before after being on the road 3 weeks and like always i had planned to just sleep in and rest up.when i woke that morning i turned on my computer and saw the picture of the south tower on fire on my home page msn.com, at first glance i just thought it was an advertisement for a new bruce willis movie or something but then i read on and found out what was unfolding.i was pissed off at first and did not really know what to make of the situation, nothing made sense? how did these planes make it to new york without being intercepted? how did anyone invade the air space around the pentagon? having several family members that had served in the military it just made no sense that this was being allowed to happen.but anyways thats where i was at home sleeping safe and sound while airplanes were crashed into the wtc’s.it really blew my mind when i heard that the buildings had fallen, guess i forget to mention i did not own a tv at that time only a desktop computer so any news updates i was getting were from the radio and news websites.thats all i will say on the subject or else i will be writing for a few hours, lol. thanks Charley
